Iris,

I'm curious, why did the prosecution only call one witness? And why in the world did they only talk to a cab driver that spoke with LH a year after the murder? Why not talk to some of the other people that she bragged to (other than the witnesses called during the trial) or Jennifer's friends or family members? I thought they usually have the victims impact statements at the sentencing phase. Am I wrong? I just can't understand why a cab driver?

Katmom,

Have only been home a little while & need to decompress a bit for I try to post. Briefly, I don't know the answer to your questions. I was expecting to hear a few more witnesses for each side today. Maybe the prosecution felt confident enough about their case they didn't need more? I, too, was a little surprised.

Iris, I am sure that you are exhausted with the trial. Images of LH on Kvue depict a person who is appears to be in shock. It's a sad situation for all of the parents involved. Looks like, indeed, she may serve about 2 years. If this was not such a high-profile case, I have no doubt that she would serve sentence immediately and would not be allowed to walk free while attorneys work up appeals and hope for time to dim memories and create doubt. Do you think she will serve time while awaiting an appeal? As a side issue, who on earth would want to have themselves videotaped and tagged as "Laura Hall's new boyfriend"? I thought that sort of thing was reserved for masochistic women who link themselves with convicted serial killers serving life sentences. Yes, you can continue to count on me for shallow contributions of this nature. :-)

5 years is horrible. She will serve less than 2. A good friend of mine in college was murdered. The guy was sentenced to 35 years and served 11. 11 years for killing a girl for no reason.

I was hoping the jury would have the guts to do the right thing.

I can't believe the DA called 1 person. Why not Jennifer's mother? Sister? Friends? What a travesty.

How about the messages that LH sent to JC's sister ? Those were so offensive. This seems like a slap on the wrist.

OMG - this is unreal! Did everyone hear those messages that LH sent JC's little sister - awful sick. And the news is saying CP's room mate testified. He didn't have a room mate. He lived in an efficiency apartment. Isn't that guy that they are calling CP's room mate, Laura Hall's friend that left the gun there in the first place?

Katmom,

Jason Mack did not, in his testimony today, use the word roommate. Mack said that in August 2005, he was living with CP at CP's Orangetree condo #88 and had been doing so for around 3 months.

Mack did not elaborate on his overall living situation. Sonn I'll post more of his testimony.

I have no answers for questions about why more witnesses were not called today, sorry.
